The journalistic media included the city of Cusco in this count, which will reach more than 4.8 million readers, who will be able to learn more about this surprising destination because of its culture, history and tradition.
Renowned journalist Ben Groundwater, twice named “Travel Writer of the Year” by the Australian Society of Travel Writers, was in charge of making the publication, in which the reader is invited to experience the cultural richness of local festivals and traditions, such as the Feast of the Cross. This religious Andean celebration has been held every year in the different provinces, districts and neighborhoods of the city, since the 18th century, to worship crosses, the sacred symbols located in the different churches and centers of worship.
The author also mentions the pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Lord of Qoyllurit'i, which encompasses a wide variety of cultural expressions, where elements from Catholicism and the worship given to pre-Hispanic gods are mixed, and offers a meeting place for communities settled at different heights of the Andes Mountains.
The article recommends Australian tourists to travel during the month of May to enjoy adventure activities such as the Inca Trail and visits you must go to sites such as the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, taking advantage of the start of the season.
