With only two weeks of release, the world is already commenting about the impressive Peruvian landscapes shown in the television series Inés del alma mía, an ambitious international production of the Amazon Prime Video platform. Filmed in different settings in the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, the series also stands out for its excellent performances and its captivating scenography.

Based on the homonymous novel by the Chilean writer Isabel Allende, it tells the odyssey of Inés Suárez (played by the actress Elena Rivera), a young Spanish woman who, during colonial times, crossed the Atlantic Ocean looking for her husband. Upon arriving, she will discover that she has been widowed and will have a forbidden relationship with a Spanish conqueror.

Actors Benjamin Vicuña, Carlos Bardem, Francesc Orella (protagonist of Merlí) and Eduardo Noriega are also part of the series.

Inés del alma mía is a co-production of RTVE, Boomerang TV and Chilevisión.

Dreamy scenarios

For five days, different towns and archaeological sites in Cusco served as locations for some of the scenes in this production. The recordings in Peru were between September and October 2019.

"Most of the shots were made in the urban center of Chinchero, the Inca town of Ollantaytambo, Racchi Viewpoint, in the Archaeological Center of Pisac, and in the Archaeological Center of Chinchero. Additionally, the Cusco population provided us with many facilities to set the locations in a time without signs, electricity or vehicles. In particular, the Asociación de Vendedoras Artesanales de Chinchero y los Vendedores Artesanales de Ollantaytambo (Association of Artisan Vendors of Chinchero and the Artisan Vendors of Ollantaytambo) allowed us to interrupt their activities so we can film this great production ", says Bruno Canale, producer of Apu Producciones, a national company that had the opportunity to guide and assist with everything necessary for filming in Peruvian territory.
