One aspect that stands out is the access to security measures adopted against COVID-19 in our country.
The Peru.Travel website, official media of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERU), was selected among the 10 best tourism websites of this year by the Skift U.S. news agency.
The main aspects evaluated were the websites’ ability to make a visual impact, as well as their understanding of how the modern tourist thinks. For example, more and more travelers are concerned about global warming and other threats, and expect to visit places that are aligned with their values.
In the specific case of Peru.Travel, they highlighted that the platform effectively communicates security measures against the coronavirus, as well as restrictions to potential tourists. They also highlighted the visibility given to the multiple awards obtained by Peru as a tourist destination over time.
Another strong point is its ‘Peru 360°’ tool, which allows virtual tours of different places. Among the spaces available are the Ballestas Islands, Choquequirao, the convent of Santa Catalina, among others. According to Skift, very few official tourism websites have been successful in offering an interactive experience of this level.
