The beaches of Peru are known among experts as the best in the world for surfing. The swell is present throughout the year, offering small, large, long, tube, high peak, barrel and breaking waves that come in quick succession.

Lima offers more than 10 ideal settings for enjoying this wonderful sport. Just 45 minutes from the capital you can challenge emblematic waves like those found at Punta Rocas, Señoritas, San Bartolo and Pico Alto. Or 1 hour farther south you will find Cerro Azul beach, named in the song “Surfin Safari” by the Beach Boys.

And if you don’t want to travel beyond the city, then you can simply go down to the Costa Verde in Lima, and you’ll find a number of options. You can even take a class from a national champion!
