The airport Comandante FAP German Arias (Anta airport) located at the province of Carhuaz, Ancash, reopens its doors to receive visitors from all over the world that arrive in commercial routes from Lima. The journey time between the Andean city and the Peruvian capital is around 70 minutes with a 4-flight frequency via LATAM airlines, during week on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday for the whole month of July and a daily flight for August, which will take place in 2024.
This represents a great opportunity to the tourists keen to discover more about natural, historic and gastronomic wonders of the department; otherwise, the land route from Lima will be 7 to 8 hours. This time would be used to visit the amazing tourist attractions of Ancash such as Huascaran National Park, Mankind’s Natural Heritage, and Chavín de Huantar Archaelogical monument, Mankind’s cultural heritage by Unesco.
In 2023, UN Tourism included Chavin de Huantar (province of Huari) and Chacas (province of Asuncion) in the list of “best tourist villages” due to its breathtaking beauty and cultural significance. Besides, the city of Huaraz, located at 30 minutes from the Anta Airport was selected as one of the trendy destinations by the specialized portal TripAdvisor.
Ancash has natural routes and wildlife, trekking, archaeology and adventure sports, gastronomy, among other aspects which are ideal for enjoying with friends and family. Thanks to this air route, this destination is a must in your next trip to Peru.
