Our country has been recognized, for the first time, with three awards at the Green Destinations Story Awards (ITB Berlin, 2022) for the best stories of green destinations that inspire positive change worldwide.
The winning biodiversity destinations were the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Loreto (Tourism Reset & Recover category), Tingo María National Park – Huánuco (Localizing and Decarbonizing the Destination Supply Chain Category), and the Colca Canyon – Arequipa (Tourism Reset & Recover Category).
The awarding of these three naturals, green, unique and clean attractions from around the world will give a great boost to our national tourism. This event is undoubtedly a huge achievement for Peru at the international, national, regional and local levels.
We are confident that, in the coming years, more Peruvian destinations will implement resilient and sustainable tourism initiatives over time, and will continue to be included in the list of Top 100 Green Destinations. Peru, an eco-sustainable tourist destination!
