Exploring Maido
Located in Lima's Miraflores district, the restaurant stands out for its innovative menu, skillfully blending Peruvian ingredients with Japanese culinary methods. Tsumura's seasonal and inventive menus feature dishes such as "nigiri a lo pobre," which consists of thin slices of Angus beef and quail egg filled with ponzu.
Another standout dish on the menu is the "sudado nikkei," which includes fish crackling, prawn dumpling, sudado reduction, and clams. Tsumura also offers classics like "lomo saltado" and "arroz con pato."

This recognition adds to the one achieved in June by Central, the restaurant of chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pía León, which was awarded the best restaurant in the world at The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2023 competition.
Additionally, Peru was honored as the best gastronomic destination in Latin America at the prestigious World Culinary Awards 2023, and Lima as the best culinary city in the region. These awards underscore the pivotal role that Peruvian gastronomy plays on the world platform and its continuous impact on the culinary industry.
